Emmanuel Delicata Wienmaker has established a strong reputation, both locally and internationally, for producing top quality award winning wines. Last year we have done particularly well at the Chardonnay du Monde in Burgundy, France, Challenge International du Vin in Bordeaux, France and the London Wine Challenge, England.
Our method at Delicata Winery is firstly to provide a service to our vignerons that ensures they produce premium quality grapes that reflect the unique vineyards of Malta and Gozo. Secondly, to use those grapes with state of art technology together with innovation and create fascinating wines that the consumer can rely on for quality, consistency of flavour and value. Thirdly, to service all our customers in a professional, passionate and positive way that will instill confidence in the name of Delicata and our wines.
The vision of Emmanuel Delicata is to use our unique premium quality Maltese wines to place Malta firmly on the World Wine Map and be classified as one of the finest wine producers in the Mediterranean.

Tours: The Delicata Classic Wine Festival is organized twice every year in August first in Valletta, Malta and 2 weeks later in Nadur, Gozo to celebrate the year's harvest.
Over 20 of our wines are available to taste as well as some delicious food, and some great live entertainment.
If you are a visitor to our islands make sure you take an evening out to attend and enjoy all the festival has to offer. The atmosphere of the festival and the breathtaking views from the Upper Barrakka Gardens across the Grand HArbour to the floddlit 3 cities will surely make your visit worthwhile.

Making the wine: Our method at Delicata Winery is firstly to provide a service to our vignerons that ensures they produce premium quality grapes that reflect the unique vineyards of Malta and Gozo.
Commitment to quality begins with the selection of grapes and is followed every step of the way by the company's winemaker and Managing Director, George Delicata.
Secondly, to use those grapes with state of art technology together with innovation and create fascinating wines that the consumer can rely on for quality, consistency of flavour and value.
The winemaker carefully monitors the process which includes the gentle de-stemming and pressing, cold stabilisation, the use of cultured yeasts, stainless steel temperature comtrolled fermentation and micro filtration.
Aging: Oak fermentation and maturation in 225 litre French and American barrels also takes place in the Delicata 17th century wine cellars.
Grapes: Indigenous varieties: Girgentina (white) and Gellewza (black)
International Varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Merlot and Cabernet sauvignon.
Production: approx. 3 million bottles per year

The history of Emmanuel Delicata Winemaker Ltd.
Date established and history: 2007 is a very important year for us at The Delicata Winery because we celebrate a century in the wine business and we feel proud to have contributed so much to a national industry reputed for the quality wines it produces. This fourth generation wine making company was founded in 1907 by Eduardo Delicata and is located on the waterfront overlooking the Grand Harbour.
