Azienda Agricola S.Giorgio is situated just in the heart of Oltrepo Pavese, where the first hilly strip of a fertile and harmonious territory begins, at an altitude of about 250 metres towards “Castello” di S.Giuletta. It is one of the oldest wine-making farms of this region: in the past it belonged to the noble family of Sauli Marquis from Genoa. The remains of a castle dating back to 1500 are situated in the territory of the farm; its tower has merlons and a vaulted basement used as a cellar.
Azienda S. Giorgio was completely restored by the present owners who did not only want to bring it back to its ancient splendour, but also to make it one of the most lively, interesting and stimulating realities of Oltrepo oenological panorama. As a matter of fact, besides developing and increasing the value of the farm and of wine-making, a strict relationship with environment was recovered and respected at the same time. The result is a happy and perfect balance between the architectural space and the natural one, where it is nicer to live and work.

Information about the tour at Az.Ag.San Giorgio
Tours: Beyond Po a corner of paradise surrounded by Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria and Emilia, is devoted to wine-making: Oltrepo. Oltrepo was created by its generous nature and a mild and hilly climate; it witnesses century-old history and traditions of grapevine cultivation; it identifies itself with naturalness, sincerity and frankness of its people and landscape; it is bound to Mother Earth by uncontaminated love and respect. Here the ticking of time is slow and quiet; here colours are bright and shining; here fog covers men and things with its fertile silence. Oltrepo intimate and simple people succeeded in combining wisdom of the past with dynamism of the present. The best of both of them created a logical continuation of generations where art and culture, tourism and nature, gastronomy and oenology, legend and reality live together.Oltrepo is all that. When a bottle of Oltrepo wine is opened to drink to friendship, respect, esteem, taste and prestige, this human warmth and wisdom, and these horizons and gestures fill our glass. And our hearts as well.
